MOVEMENT TO STILLNESS WEEKEND SCHEDULE :
FRIDAY 22nd Sept
5:30pm-6:30pm : Finding Stillness in Movement
Join Jean for a slow flow vinyasa practice in which we gently move from stillness into movement, returning to stillness again. This slow flow class is an opportunity to connect with the breath as the anchor for our yoga practice. All levels welcome.
6:30pm-7:00pm : Light Dinner and Tea
7pm-8pm : Yoga Philosophy: Sadhana & Samskaras
Join Jean for an exploration of how yoga can help us become unstuck, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Through an understanding of the practice of yoga (sadhana) and a setting of intentions, we can create new mental and emotional patterns in order to live more freely.
SATURDAY 23rd Sept
9:30am-11:30am : Ashtanga - The Fundamentals
This class introduces you to the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga and takes you on a journey through the primary series making stops along the way to examine correct technique, breathing and the gatekeepers of the Primary Series.
3-5pm : Backbending Bliss
For many of us backbending is not at all blissful! Yet there are many preparations and postures linked together intelligently that can allow us to experience the freedom that back bending brings. Using props, flow and adjustments Jean will help you explore a variety of yoga backbends safely, with take how tips on how to safely deepen your backhanding practice. ALL levels are welcome.
SUNDAY 24th Sept
6am : Mysore
Join Jean for a traditional Mysore practice. Jean has been teaching the Mysore program at The Yoga Space West Perth for 12 years, since her teacher Sri K Pattabhi Join gave her his blessing and encouragement to start a Mysore program. Some understanding of the Ashtanga System is required for this workshop.
8:00am : Light breakfast and tea
9:30am - 11:30am : Settle in Stillness
Our weekend will close with a deep and nourishing practice of stillness. Slow Flow, meditation, pranayama, yin postures and an encouragement to sink deep into the breath. ALL levels welcome.
Full Weekend Workshop : 5 sessions, dinner and breakfast - $200
Single Session : $45
(Friday 5:30pm single session includes dinner and Sunday 6am session includes breakfast).
**Friday evening 7pm Yoga Philosophy will be by donation for Food Bank. Donations are appreciated in the form of Non perishables or a cash donation so we can buy some.
